MIDWEST of the New Millennium is an Engineering, Technical and Field Service driven Company. MIDWEST is located just on the North side of Milwaukee in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Our Switchgear Division sells equipment throughout the United States. MIDWEST Services feature Unlimited Maintenance Services, Reliability Centered Maintenance Services, and our ubiquitous Infrared Scanning Services. MIDWEST boasts forty years in business, a huge facility in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, over 100 years combined electrical power experience, and a circle of customers ranging from the Azores, to Alaska, to Taiwan, to Antarctica, to the Great State of Wisconsin….and we have sold switchgear to just about every State in the United States.
Midwest Electrical Testing and Maintenance Co., Inc. was incorporated in 1977.
MIDWEST, as it is now called, was established to bring together in one company the special engineering resources of an electric utility, electrical contractor, and electrical consultant and apply them to Field Services, maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical power equipment and switchgear. From these early beginnings with three people, MIDWEST outgrew two facilities and in 1987 purchased an 8000 square foot Service Shop. With eight people, MIDWEST continued to focus on Field Engineering, Testing, Maintenance and Shop Services.
In 1990 MIDWEST began to diversify, but maintained its strength in the Electrical Testing, Maintenance, and Field Service world. By 1995 MIDWEST had purchased Custom Electrical Products, a large dealer in electrical equipment and switchgear; Created the Switchgear Sales and Service Division of MIDWEST; Created the Infrared Scanning Division of MIDWEST; and moved again to a massive 100,000 square foot facility.
In 1997 MIDWEST added the Fox Valley Division and opened a Service Shop in Neenah, Wisconsin in order to provide immediate service to our Fox Valley customers. This has proven to be a powerful resource for our customers and added technical strength to the entire company.
In 1998 MIDWEST set up an on-site Web Server connected to the Internet to give our customers immediate access to their Electrical Maintenance Program and to provide instant access to our huge inventory of electrical equipment for sale. Over the following years MIDWEST's Divisions have continued to grow and strengthen their services.
In 2003 MIDWEST went on line with its second generation Web Site. This hybrid site provides instant access to our massive inventory of 1000's of breakers, transformers, starters, bus plugs, panelboards, switchgear, etc., with the immediate information customers expect today, including price, pictures, drawings, on line ordering, and 24 hour access. In addition, the site provides our service customers Internet access to their Maintenance Program and Archives; to Drawings of their Power Distribution System with layers for equipment information and maintenance history; and to a Photo Gallery of their electrical equipment. In 2008 MIDWEST went live with our third generation web site, in a continuing effort to improve the purchasing experience for our customers.
In 2012 MIDWEST, once again, took our web site to the next level with its fourth generation changes. MIDWEST is dedicated to maintaining a web site that is constantly improving to meet the wants and needs of its daily visitors.
In 2017, MIDWEST's 40th year in business, we moved to our new location in Menomonee Falls, WI. This facility will accommodate our continuing growth for years to come. MIDWEST is excited about future opportunities with this new facility. We are confident this transformation will allow MIDWEST to continue to provide our customers with exceptional products and services while allowing us to reach new company goals and exciting new prospects in the years to come.
